SMS is usualy used as a backup solution. In exemple your are using a regular token (usb, Display Card) and then you loose it. With the SMS you will be never lost. Because you just have to go on your standard logon page, type in, your user name and a password on the OTP field. Then you will be promped on your logon page to enter an OTP and this OTP will be send automaticlly to your mobile phone
